Aqualate Mere - Family Wildlife Day
11.00am – 4.00pm
An afternoon out for all of the family providing an introduction to wildlife at Aqualate Mere with games & activities for the children.
£2.00 adults £1.00 children.

Mottey Meadows - Fritillary Walk
2.00pm to 4.30pm
A public walk around Mottey Meadows National Nature Reserve to see our nationally rare plant, the Snake’s Head Fritillary (or folfalarum) and other spring flowers.
Booking is essential.
Monday 28th April
Mottey Meadows - Fritillary Walk
7.00pm to 8.30pm
The annual village walk around Mottey Meadows National Nature Reserve to see our nationally rare plant, the Snake’s Head Fritillary (or folfalarum) and other spring flowers.
Friday 9th May
Aqualate Mere - All about Bats
9.00pm to 11.00pm
An evening walk around Aqualate Mere with local bat experts to see which species of these unique mammals occur in the Newport area.
Booking is essential.
Saturday 24th May
Chartley Moss - Bouncing Bogs and Dragonflies
2.00pm to 4.30pm
A joint event with the British Dragonfly Society. The event will involve a tour of this amazing floating peat bog, a chance to observe a variety of the reserves 20 dragonflies at close quarters and an opportunity to find out about their life histories.
Places are strictly limited, please book early to ensure a place.

Mottey Meadows - Hay Festival
1.00pm to 5.00pm
A celebration of hay making on one of England’s finest series of hay meadows with activities for all of the family. Displays, vintage machinery, guided walks, activities, trails, games, refreshments and much more!

Mottey Meadows - Hay Meadow Flowers
7.00pm to 9.00pm
An evening walk around one of England’s finest series of hay meadows to view a selection of the reserves 240 species of wild flowers.
Saturday 16th August
Chartley Moss - Bogs and Bugs
2.00pm to 4.30pm
An event for all of the family with the chance to explore this amazing floating peat bog and meet the insects that live there. A Meres & Mosses Month event.

Aqualate Mere - Mammal Day

An opportunity to catch and identify a variety of small mammals on this reserve with Derek Crawley from the Staffordshire Mammal Group.

Aqualate Mere - Aqualate Ramble
2.00pm to 5.00pm
An energetic afternoon ramble (3.5 miles) around Aqualate Mere, the largest of the glacial lakes in the West Midlands. Features of interest will include birds, flowers and insects.
Saturday 8th November
Aqualate Mere - Wintering Wildfowl Workshop
1.00pm to 4.00pm
Join local experts to discover the birds that make Aqualate Mere their home for winter. Improve your identification skills of ducks, geese, swans and other water birds.
