Regional Biomass Active Demand Mapping Project
In October 2007, JHWalter was commissioned by Natural England to conduct a Regional Biomass Active Demand Mapping Project across the East Midlands to identify current and future demand.
The project will also help to identify and understand potential land use issues and support the delivery of the Rural Development Programme for England 2007 - 2013.
The East Midlands is at the forefront of the UK biomass market, with approximately 5,500 hectares planted, yielding 60,000 – 70,000 Oven Dried Tonnes Per Annum (ODTPA).
