Natural England - Funding for land management

Funding for land management

We provide funding for farmers and other land managers in England to reward them for managing the land in ways that improve the environment.

Where is the funding going?

We provide online maps that show all the land in publicly funded agri-environment schemes. The maps show the extent and distribution of land that is in the Environmental Stewardship Scheme; Countryside Stewardship Scheme; Environmentally Sensitive Areas Scheme; and the English Woodland Grant Scheme.

You can view the mapexternal link (opens in new window) showing schemes in your local area. Just enter your parish, postcode or place name in the search box above the map.

18 November 2010  Please note, information about agri-environment scheme agreements is unavailable at present. We are working to reinstate this as soon as possible.

  • Environmental Stewardship developments

The current Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) ends on 31 December 2013.  This webpage includes information for farmers, land managers, agents and stakeholders on recent changes to Environmental Stewardship (ES) and information on key issues and deadlines for the remainder of the current programme.
